What to look out for

Try to look for the ones who feel heavy for its size. Fruits that are fully coloured (purple) are usually riper than the ones without this aspect.

Avoid fruits that feels very light to its size, too hard, or with excess wrinkles since it can be signs of a bad fruit.

Also, usually passion fruits have a very thick skin, thus small scratches or marks won’t be a problem since it won’t affect the pulp inside.

Storage

Passion fruits can be stored in 3 different ways:

Counter: The best and proper way to store a ripe passion fruit is just allocating it over the counter in a dark spot. It can keep for 2 weeks.

Fridge: The fruit can also be stored in the fridge. Just place it inside a plastic bag or sealed container to prevent the fruit from dehydrating. It can last up to a months on the fridge.

Freezer: Freezing the fruit is super simple, just place the whole fruit inside the freezer and it’s done. Alternatively, the pulp of the fruit can be removed first and placed inside ice cube trays for an easier post consumption. It can last up to 3 months inside the freezer.
