What to look out for
When buying cauliflower, try to look for a clean, compact and tightly closed head. Try to avoid heads with loose or crumby florets, brown spots or a dull colour. Also, the leaves should look fresh and green.
Storage
Properly stored, cauliflower can last up to 5 days inside the fridge. We recommend washing it only before consuming or preparing.
Fridge: it can be stored in the fridge inside a perforated or loosely closed bag since cauliflower needs to have air circulation. It’s important also to keep the stem-end up to prevent and avoid condensation, moisture can provide discolouration and decay of the cauliflower.
Freezer: Cauliflower can be placed in the freezer, and it may last up to 12 months. Before freezing, it must be chopped into florets, blanched, and placed inside a freezer bag.
