Ingredients
- 100 g Fresh Basil (Large Stems Removed)
- 30 g Pine Nuts (or Walnuts)
- 3 Cloves Garlic (we go for 5 usually)
- 30 g Nutritional Yeast
- 2 Lemon Juice
- 25 ml Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 50 ml Water (more as needed)
- 1 Pinch Sea Salt (or Himalayan Salt)
Instructions
- For this recipe, a food processor or small blender will be needed.
- Using the food processor, place the basil, pine nuts, garlic, lemon juice, nutritional yeast, and sea salt and blend until a paste is formed inside the blender.
- Add the olive oil a little at a time (while the blender is running if possible). Then add the tbsp of water at a time until the desired consistent is achieved - a thick but pourable paste should be formed.
- At this point, taste and adjust the flavour as needed. This cheesy pesto is perfect for adding to pastas, breads, zucchini noodles, and dressings.
